Attorneys in the case of Robert Dunn have 80 witnesses and more depositions to take before they can be ready for trial, they told a judge.
Dunn, 45, is accused of shooting his wife to death at a Cape Coral day care where she worked.
He faces the death penalty if convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree armed burglary and child abuse.
Dunn allegedly walked into the Bobbie Noonan's Daycare in Cape Coral in January 2008, found his wife and shot her in front of children.
Dunn will next appear in court Oct. 5.
