A Lee County official said today the Boston Red Sox’s new spring time home, JetBlue Park, is down to the finishing touches.

With about six weeks left until the stadium’s Feb. 25 grand-opening, workers are touching up the paint, laying carpet and installing electrical fixtures, Lee County Project Manager Bob Taylor said.

“We’re really down to the last few nuts and bolts,” he said.

Some members of the public will get their first glimpse of the new campus on Feb. 5, when the Red Sox hold a fantasy camp on the practice fields around the stadium, Taylor said.

But the stadium itself probably won’t be open until after players report Feb. 18, he said.

The stadium cost Lee County an estimated $77.9 million to build.
