Cape Coral Police said today that they are investigating the death of Anna Rivera, 45, of 309 NE 18th Avenue, as a homicide.

Rivera was found dead inside her home on Sunday afternoon. Her husband, Porfirio Rivera, 50, was also found in the home with non life-threatening injuries and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. He remains there and he will be interviewed by Cape Coral detectives upon completion of his treatment. His condition was not available.

Cape police declined to release information on how Mrs. Rivera died, specifics about Mr. Rivera’s injuries and other details.

Officers responded to the address at 4 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call from a concerned person to check on the welfare of the Riveras.

When officers arrived, they discovered Mrs. Rivera dead and her husband injured.

Cape Coral Police are confirming that the neighborhood is safe and no suspects are "at large" or being sought.
