Point guard

FGCU's Brett Comer vs. Florida's Scottie Wilbekin

Comer is arguably the hottest point guard in the country right now, as he is averaging 11 points and 12 assists per game in the NCAA tournament. Wilbekin is on the floor more than any other Gator, as he averages 32.2 minutes per game. His quickness could present a problem for FGCU and he is valuable to Florida’s defense.

Shooting guard

FGCU's Bernard Thompson vs. Florida's Kenny Boynton

Thompson, Atlantic Sun defensive player of the year, leads the nation in steals with 102. He averages 14.5 points per game on 47.1 percent shooting and has scored 23 points in each NCAA tournament win. Boynton started all 35 games but shoots the lowest percentage from the field (39.3) of any Gator regular.

Small forward

FGCU's Sherwood Brown vs. Florida's Mike Rosario

Brown’s athleticism is very important to FGCU’s success. He has the ability to defend high-level players and rebound consistently in addition to being FGCU’s leading scorer. Rosario proved he can score at a high level by pouring in 25 points on six 3-pointers in Florida’s 78-64 third-round win over Minnesota.

Power forward

FGCU's Chase Fieler vs. Florida's Erik Murphy

Fieler’s dunks over the last week have captivated the basketball world. He will draw his toughest tournament assignment in Murphy, who is Florida’s leading scorer at 12.8 points per game. Murphy can knock down a shot from anywhere and is projected as a second-round pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by

FGCU's Eric McKnight vs. Florida's Patric Young

This might be where Florida’s biggest matchup advantage lies, as McKnight and Young are each listed at 6-foot-9 but Young is 40 pounds heavier. The Eagles might try to expose Young at the free-throw line as he shoots just 50.4 from the charity stripe. It will be key for McKnight to stay out of foul trouble early.

» Edge: Florida

FGCU’s Eddie Murray, Christophe Varidel, Filip Cvjeticanin, DeJuan Graf vs. Florida’s Will Yeguete, Michael Frazier, Casey Prather

Varidel had his best game in weeks against San Diego State and Murray will be key in helping to slow down Young. Yeguete would likely start on a large percentage of teams across the country. He, Frazier and Prather are all capable of scoring in bunches off the bench for the Gators.

» Edge: Florida

FGCU's Andy Enfield vs. Florida's Billy Donovan

Enfield is the hottest coach in the country right now but does not sport the history of Donovan, who has led Florida to two national championships and six SEC titles during his tenure as coach. Each team has struggled to finish games at times this season.

FGCU's magic run vs. Florida's experience

Florida is accustomed to being in this position under Donovan. This is its third consecutive Sweet 16 and if it wins tonight, it will qualify for its third consecutive Elite Eight. FGCU is making its first NCAA Tournament run and is the first No.15 seed ever to make the Sweet 16. But the pressure falls squarely on the heavily favored Gators.
