Talking shop with Daiana Raina-Lopez, owner of Denimianco Boutique in Fort Myers.

“It’s a boutique, but the prices are affordable,” said Raina-Lopez.

Denimianco Boutique is located at 12995 S. Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers across from the Bell Tower Shops. The store is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call 313-7298 or visit denimianco.com

What does the name mean?

It’s a combination of the names of my daughter and my sister.

When did the store open?

I moved to this location one month ago and before that the store was open for a year. I moved into a bigger space from 210 square feet to 1,500.

What do you sell?

I sell stylish apparel for the busy woman. The clothes are professional and casual looks, dresses, pants, pencil skirts, blouses, tops, jewelry, necklaces, shoes and handbags. I have a little bit of everything and it’s all under $50. I have sizes extra-small to 3 extra large.

What are your biggest sellers?

The dresses because a lot of my clients are professionals. The pencil skirts are very stylish and now everybody is loving maxi dresses. They can be more casual, but it depends on how you accessorize.

And you also sell through your website?

Yes, if you’re local you can choose the option to pick up in store to avoid shipping costs and all orders over $100 get free shipping. I have a Facebook page where I post specials and contests.

What is unique about your store?

I have a man cave with a TV and couch so when a woman comes with the husband and kids, they have a place to have a good time while she’s shopping. I also do private fashion parties at the boutique for my clients.

Who is your typical customer?

The average age is between 30 and 55.

What trends do you see in women’s clothing?

The hot colors now are coral and mint. Green is the color of the year.

Have you felt the effects of the economy?

A little bit, but business is still doing good because I try to keep very good quality clothes and it’s all affordable.

Do you have any events coming up?

I have a networking event with different vendors on June 5th from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be vendors with everything regarding healthy women and beauty and chocolate, of course.

Any plans for the future?

I may be adding a men’s line as well as kids.
