A man shot in his car early Friday morning in Fort Myers marked the fourth shooting in the city since Sunday.
Antonio Crews, 21, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was shot in the parking lot of the Sunrise Towers apartment complex on Central Avenue.
Police responded to the complex shortly after 2:30 a.m. They learned Crews was in his car when another car pulled up next to him, and a suspect shot him.
Police are not releasing the name of the suspect they are searching for.
On Wednesday around 4:22 a.m., Michelle Fletcher, 34, and Quayshun Lewis, 21, were critically injured in a drive-by shooting on Winkler Avenue Extension. Lewis, who had just been released from the Lee County Jail after serving two months on a charge of resisting an officer, was only out for about an hour before he and Fletcher were shot.
There was no further information from the hospital on Friday regarding their condition. Police spokeswoman Shelly Flynn said both victims were still alive.
On Sunday, Angel Espinosa, 29, became the city’s 20th homicide this year after he was found shot on the Tarpon Street Fishing Pier.
Police released Espinosa’s identity Friday after notifying his family in Mexico. No arrests have been made.
