A call in reference to an injured male this morning led Fort Myers Police to be investigating what is being called the 24th homicide in the city this year.
According to a news release, at 7:29 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department received the call about the injured male inside a home located at 2353 Lafayette St.
A neighbor made the discovery and called 9-1-1 at 7:29 a.m. Upon arrival police with the assistance of Emergency Medical Services determined the male at 2353 Lafayette St. was deceased. Police are investigating the death as a murder, have cordoned the area around the home and, with assistance from The Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigators, are executing a search warrant at the residence and processing the crime scene.
