Performers from Opera Naples, a Southwest Florida professional opera company based in Naples, will begin the series.
The evening begins with cocktails, and a buffet dinner prepared by the directors and volunteers. During the social hour starting at 5:30 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the young performing artists.
Stephanie Pearce, artistic director of Opera Naples, will introduce the audience to the three highly skilled singers and present a short explanation before they perform productions of Pagliacci, "The Barber of Seville" and a selection of arias and songs from Mozart, Donizetti, Rogers, Sullivan and Gershwin.
Tenor Justin Berkowitz, soprano Katie Dixon and Rocky Sellers are performing in the 2014 season at Opera Naples and all have extensive experience in the operatic world.
Berkowitz has been praised for his exacting and animated performances. He recently completed his masters in voice performance at the University of Michigan and spent the summer 2012 performing with the Ohio Light Opera Company.
Dixon has performed at several opera companies around the country, including the Grand Opera in Fresno, Houston’s Opera in the Heights and Lincoln Center. He is hailed as “a natural with a sparkling personality” and ability to hit the high notes.
Sellers, a bass-baritone, has previously performed with the Santa Fe Opera, and the Manhattan Opera Studio and is recognized as a “fiercely gifted” young singer.
