Collier Boulevard (S.R. 951) from U.S. 41 to just south of Beach Resort Boulevard will be closed to both northbound and southbound traffic beginning Friday, June 27, at 7 p.m. through Monday, June 30, at 5 p.m.
Weather permitting, the work will allow crews to work on the U.S. 41 and S.R./C.R. 951 intersection capacity improvement project to place drainage pipes under the roadway across the Collier Boulevard travel lanes.
Detour signs will be posted to direct both northbound and southbound traffic to Triangle Boulevard during this needed construction work. Access to all businesses in the area will be maintained. Business access signs will be posted.
The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph in this area during the construction project. Law enforcement officers will be present in the construction zone and assist in directing traffic, as needed. In addition, electronic message boards, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in the area.
Travelers who do not have a destination in this vicinity may want to seek an alternate route. Please drive with caution. Expect delays.
